My Top 3 NZ Lodges for Weddings

These three NZ lodges are my top picks for holding weddings at for

many reasons - all three are run spectacularly well, all three have excellent facilities and all three make the most of the amazing local views.

But all three offer different experiences.

This is not a paid post.  I’m just sharing with you what I’ve seen as a celebrant lucky enough to work in all three locations.

At the top of Lake Ohau, well past Ohau village is this beauty!

This self catering lodge sleeps up to 24.

It’s beautifully decorated - meaning if you want to have ‘getting ready’ photos taken, your photographer will have an excellent backdrop to work with.

An expansive lawn and your own spa, means if what you want is to hang out with friends and in the middle of all the fun, get married, you can.

You get to decide how you’re going to cater this - want to stock up at the supermarket on your way in and bbq all weekend, great!

Want to get a private chef in?  (The kitchen is amazing, they’ll love you for it!) You can do that too.

Away from all light pollution, the night sky here is amazing.

Overlooking beautiful Lake Pukaki is Lakestone Lodge.

This is one of my favourite lodges because you can book one room and elope… or you can bring a select few guests and book the entire lodge for your wedding.

Either way, everything is taken care of - with an on site chef, breakfast, lunch and dinner are somewhat (very) special.

The team offer planning services, they’ve already selected the best vendors - from celebrant (yes that can be me!) to cake makers, florists, photographers and more.  So once you’ve decided to book, you only have a few important decisions left to make (like what flavour wedding cake you’d like!)

Just a short drive out of Wanaka, The Lookout Lodge sits atop a hill giving you, as the name suggests, an amazing view!

The Lookout Lodge is in my top three because they offer so many options!

Their midweek wedding package for 16/ 35 guests is amazing value.

Or you can celebrate with 100 of your nearest and dearest.

The views from the lawn mean decoration wise, less is 100% more.

This place manages to exude both laid back and lush.
